Tax Credit Guernsey does not have a system for tax credit. However, it is still possible to qualify in another jurisdiction for tax credit where, for example, sufficient pre- and post-production is carried out there to satisfy the relevant criteria. For the UK, see this useful guide at the BFI. Whilst having trading relationships with them, Guernsey has never been a member of the EU nor EEA.
Tax Guernsey does not levy VAT. There is no coporate taxation except for a narrow range of activities which are unlikely to include film and television. Guernsey does levy income tax on individuals but only if they are resident in Guernsey for a period of more than 90 days. Individuals may be liable to pay income tax on employment or business income arising in Guernsey but, in the usual course of production, a liability is unlikley to arise. In the case of any production, appropriate tax advice is recommended and can be obtained through UK and international firms having offices in Guernsey or through local firms.
Sterling Whilst Guernsey does have its own coins and notes in the same way as, for example, Scotland, the currency is pounds sterling.
